The Art of Living Well: Overcoming Anxiety and Stress

1 day Saturday retreat dates - running May to October

Most people will experience some anxiety and stress in their lifetime. Sometimes this will be a natural reaction to adverse life events and they will move through these feelings or episodes with without any major issues. For others it becomes a debilitating force that controls many areas of their lives, relationships, jobs, social interactions to name a few.

At times life becomes a constant struggle with little or no joy.

Self-esteem and self-worth are often eroded and fear takes over. The joy of living is lost.

In the last 2 decades as a therapist, I have worked with a constant stream of people suffering from Anxiety and stress, right across the spectrum.

In that time I have helped countless people not only to reduce anxiety and stress but to be anxiety and stress free, and live their life fully once more.

I have developed a therapeutic process that is easy to follow incorporating some of the most up to date therapeutic techniques interwoven with 2500 year old philosophy (Stoicism), that served some of the greatest leaders and philosophers of the ancient and modern world, from Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, George Washington, James Stockdale and Beatrice Webb to name a few.

It is a highly successful method that can help you be anxiety and stress free. It is easy to follow and can be used by anyone suffering from anxiety, stress, fear, low self-esteem and low self-worth.

It will let you view and see both yourself and the world differently, so if you are ready to take the first steps to freedom get in touch today.

The process involves 5 easy to follow steps that leads to freedom from Anxiety and helps develop the art of living well.

  1. Understanding impressions
  2. Letting go of passions / emotions
  3. The use of indifference
  4. Understanding and using the dichotomy of control
  5. Applying reason.

How it works:

As everyone is different we have a range of different options to suit everyone’s needs.

There is no long term therapy, you decide what you need but there is always ongoing additional support, either through 1-2-1 with a therapist, group or peer to peer.

Getting started:

Therapeutic Day Workshop:

  1. We will be running a full day therapeutic sessions that gives you all you initially need to know to help you understand and implement the way of living.  These will take place monthly across County Durham. This is for some the best way to completely immerse yourself in the process. The groups are small and limited in number. For some this may well be enough but for others further understanding and support is needed
  2. Group support:  Twice weekly group support is available to help you keep up the initial work that you have started, Facilitated by myself this is a place to come explore and overcome anxieties as they arrive. With the help of others you will feel fully supported and never alone.
  3. 1-2-1  For people who find that the first 2 options may prove to difficult or maybe need some additional more focused therapy , 1-2-1  therapy is available. To help you build the resources and have the very individualised support that you need.  This is also helpful to those who are struggling in an individual area or find attending either the group or day workshops a little too overwhelming.
